FAKE MAC

MAC Cosmetics
All MAC products are made in Toronto, Canada. If the product says it's made somewhere else, it's a fake.

This girl on youtube explains how to compare the real and the fakes.
Part 1: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=U-NU5u4y0j8
Part 2: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=7vfdt-85LLY&NR=1

If you don't want to watch it, I have breifly explained it, with pictures (:
Palettes: Authentic MAC palettes don't come with an applicator and a mirror, they also don't come in a set of 12 or 4. This goes for lip palettes too!

Photobucket Photobucket -Fake!

Pigments:

The one on the left is authentic, and the one right is fake.
MAC always label the shade on the bottom of the jar as well as the CORRECT serial number. Fakes have a clear sticker with nothing but a number on it. The number's will have either an A or B infront of the number.
In this case, the pigment on the left, the serial number is A55 and tne one on the left is 80.
This appears on every MAC product, whether it's lipliners, eyeliners, powders etc...
Sometimes real MAC have clear stickers as well, but that doesn't matter as long as it has the shade and serial number.

Inside
The 2 pigments on the left are real and the rest are fake.
As well as not having a hole in the center, MAC also press a bunch of numbers into the plastic top.

Labels
The blue one is real, the other is fake.
If you look carefully, the layout of the writing is different, so is the print. Also there is a label on both products. On the blue the label is quite large, and on the yellow it's small, I've circled both. The Blue is real MAC!

Packaging
MAC always post a sticker with the shade name on top, the fakes don't.
Photobucket
The barcode on real MAC packaging is a sticker. On fakes it's stamped on.
Every MAC product has a different code/number, and sometimes, fakes have the same number on different products.
Some fakes are starting to label the boxes with the shade name, but the problem is, is the pigment colour may be right but also the pigment may be a matte, when it's shown as a pigment and vice versa. (Hopefully that made some sort of sense)

Pressed Eyeshadows

With fake MAC eyeshadows you can lift the eyeshadow up (like she'd trying to do) and under it is an applicator and a mirroe. You can't pull the eyshadows out just like that on real MAC. You have to dig into it with something small (if you want to put it into a palette).
This makes fake pots thicker.

Also as you can see in the first pic. The eyeshadow is pressed down. Fake MAC eyeshadows are lifted. As you can see in the image above.
